Online Reservation Cabin Calendar
Welcome to Briggs Woods Park camping cabins. The Hamilton County Conservation Board is proud to offer four attractive camping cabins at Briggs Woods Park as a perfect way to spend quality time in the great outdoors. The cabins are available to rent by reservation on January 2 of each year. Cabins are open year round, weather permitting.The camping log cabins provide heat and air conditioning, electricity, ceiling fan, bunk bed, futon (sofa/bed), table and chairs, small refrigerator, microwave, picnic table, campfire ring with grill. Ample space is available on the floor for a queen size air mattress. Water is available at a hydrant near each cabin. Cabin #1 is ADA (handicap accessible). Please notify us if you have any special needs. The modern shower facilities are located in the lower campground. This shower and restroom facility is open seasonally. There is a direct trail linking both campgrounds together. There are re-modeled odor free vault restrooms within 50 yards of the cabins. Cabin Rules: *Check in time is 4:00 pm Check out time is 2:00 pm *Maximum number of occupants per cabin is six: no exceptions *Maximum length of stay is 14 consecutive nights *Minimum age to reserve a cabin is 18 years of age *Maximum number of vehicles per cabin is two at designated cabin parking area. *All county and state park/campground rules apply *Park closes at 10:30 pm for non registered guests *RV's, Motor homes, pop-ups, 5th wheels and tents must use the regular campground *Cooking inside the cabin is prohibited except for microwave (provided) and coffee makers (not provided) *Cabin furniture must stay inside the cabin *Keg beer is prohibited *Pets are prohibited inside the cabin. Pets must be leashed outside at all times. *Smoking is prohibited inside the cabin *The fire ring is for burning wood only – No Trash! *Trash must be taken with you. Do not throw your trash over the sides of the deck. *Due to the large increase in landfill costs, we now have a Carry In – Carry Out trash policy. Renters are required to take their trash with them. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the deposit. *Lost, stolen, or misplaced keys; or lost or damaged key box will result in a $50.00 replacement charge for each item. All you need to bring is your pillows, bedding, camping supplies and the spirit of adventure.
How to reserve: Phone, fax or online reservations.A confirmation of your cabin will be mailed following receipt of the rental payment plus deposit, OR emailed back to you if you reserve online. Reservations are valid when you receive your confirmation receipt. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Payment: Cash, check or money order, or credit card. Fees should be made payable and mailed to Hamilton County Conservation Board, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail, Webster City, Iowa 50595. CABIN FEES: Peak season April 1 - October 31 Weekdays (Sun-Thurs) $40/night plus $50 deposit Weekends (Fri-Sat) $45/night plus $50 deposit Winter Rates November 1 - March 31- $35/night plus $50 deposit (Winter rates only apply until measurable snow fall. Plowing to cabins for rentals will cease.) Exception: There is a minimum of a two night stay on weekends (Friday and Saturday) during the peak season. Three night stay is required on holiday weekends. Weekly Rate - $280.00 seven day fee during the peak season and $210 during the non-peak season, with $100.00 deposit. These reservations should be made 10 days in advance. The deposit is destroyed or returned if there is no damage, no cancellation of the reservation and the cabin is sufficiently cleaned. The damage/reservation deposit and rental fee must be received in our office prior to the rental date(s). In case of cancellation, all cabin fees will be refunded (exception: if for any reason you cancel your reservation within 10 days of your arrival, you will forfeit your deposit). Hotel/Motel Excise Tax State, County and City entities that provide sleeping rooms, such as our cabins, are required to charge a hotel/motel excise tax. The hotel/motel excise tax is imposed on the gross receipts from the renting of sleeping rooms for 31 consecutive days or less. Local option tax does not apply, however, county hotel/motel tax does apply. The State hotel/motel excise tax rate is 5%. Hamilton County also has a 5% hotel/motel tax, which goes to a special fund that is administered by the Hamilton County Board of Supervisors, and is used for tourism and promotion of Hamilton County. We are now required to charge 10% for all cabin rentals. |
