The Hamilton County Conservation Board consists of five citizens appointed to provide areas and programs that benefit unmet conservation and recreation needs within the county. Since 1956, the board has become either owners and managers of several public areas, together totaling over 1500 acres. MISSION STATEMENT: Hamilton County Conservation Board and Department based on Chapter 350 Code of Iowa strives to protect, preserve and enhance natural areas, wildlife populations and to meet the needs of environmental education, recreational areas and pursuits not provided by other private or public agencies at the federal, state or municipal level.
